Historic homecoming of Paralympic Games begins

The Handover of the Paralympic Games from Beijing to London took place today in the Bird’s Nest Stadium. The eight-minute segment in followed the transfer of the Paralympic Flag to the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. It continued the themes from the Olympic Handover segment, with the reappearance of the red London bus, young performers, innovative dance sequences, specially-composed music and iconic landmarks. Danny Crates to carry Opening Ceremony flag for ParalympicsGB

ParalympicsGB today announced that London 2012 Ambassador Danny Crates will carry the flag for the Great Britain team at the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Paralympic Games today, Saturday 6th September. Beijing Games kick off in spectacular style

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games got off to a spectacular start with a stunning Opening Ceremony at the Bird's Nest stadium.
