People living around the Olympic Park and a range of sports groups will be able to find out more and give their feedback on the plans for the London 2012 VeloPark and Handball Arena both for the Games and legacy. Velodrome contract awarded

The contract to build the Velodrome has been awarded by the Olympic Delivery Authority. ISG InteriorExterior won the contract, meaning UK firms are now contracted to build the three major sporting venues in the Olympic Park. Village site cleared for construction

The construction of the Olympic Village is on track to start this summer, following the clearance of the area that will link the Village and VeloPark during the Games. The clearance of the area included the demolition of 28 buildings, including the two tallest buildings on the Olympic Park site – the long disused, 12-storey University of East London towers.
