Now in its 13th year, the Greenwich and Docklands International Festival is one of London's most spectacular free, outdoor events.

Featuring an incredible programme of performances, live entertainment and family fun, the festival transforms East London into a sea of colour.

 

Each year the festival follows a particular theme, and this year the chosen theme is water, so you can expect to see plenty of action along the Thames.

Five new commissions, four world premieres and five London premieres promise to make this festival one of London's most exciting outdoor arts event this year.

Water MusicNational Maritime Museum. A stunning celebration of the 250th anniversary of the composer Handel, with an outdoor son et lumiere inspired by the Thames. 25, 26 & 27 Jun, 10pm

Fous de Bassin (Waterfools) – Millwall Dock, Isle of Dogs. French company Ilotopie will transport you to a dreamlike water world. Features floating structures, pyrotechnics and music in a poetic spectacle where the performers literally walk on water. 25 & 26 Jun, 10pm

Dancing City – Canary Wharf. A day of international outdoor dance performances around Canary Wharf's striking squares, stairs, fountains and waterfront views. 27 Jun, 1-5pm

Throughout the festival a series of intriguing and unexpected performances be popping up around Greenwich as part of Greenwich Waves.

These wonderful surprise events take place in Cutty Sark Gardens, the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich Park and at the Royal Observatory.
